Gifts for dads who love DIY

51 designs

For the dad whose answer to everything is "I can fix that".

Every family has one: the dad who will not call someone out when he can watch a video and do it himself, whose shed or garage holds a tool for every job, and whose five-minute fixes take the whole weekend. He is also the hardest person to buy for, because anything he wants he has already bought.

The designs below are for him. There are fix-it jokes about duct tape, spirit levels and instructions left in the box, safety-third humour for the one who owns the right goggles and never wears them, and designs about the workshop itself. For a dad who works in a trade, the last group is about the pride that comes with it. They suit birthdays, Father's Day and Christmas equally.

For the dad who can fix anything

Duct tape, spirit levels, voided warranties and the five-minute job that took all weekend.

For the dad with a workshop

One more tool, cheaper than therapy, and projects that are permanently in progress.

For the dad who works in a trade

Safety-third humour, and designs about hard graft and calloused hands.

Buying as a gift

What is a good gift for a dad who likes DIY?
Something he would not buy himself. Most DIY dads spend their own money on tools and materials, so clothing rarely makes the list. A shirt that jokes about the way he does things is personal, it gets a laugh when he opens it, and it will be worn every weekend he is in the garage.
How do I choose the right size?
Every design comes in S to XL, and most go up to 2XL or 3XL. The easiest way to get it right is to lay a T-shirt they already wear flat, measure across the chest from armpit to armpit, and compare it with the size guide. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one; the shirts are a unisex fit and a little room is rarely a problem.
What if the size is wrong?
Because each shirt is printed after you order it, it cannot go back into stock, so exchanges for a different size are not offered as standard. That is why it is worth measuring one of their shirts first. If anything arrives faulty, misprinted or damaged, we replace or refund it in full.
Can I send it straight to him?
Printing takes about three business days, then delivery takes four to five. You can enter their address as the delivery address at checkout, so it goes straight to them.
